Come lunch break, if you venture out the back gate of the Lady Shri Ram College, you will undoubtedly find a crowd of girls surrounding the stall.
Jai Kalka Mai- Hidden Chinese Stall
While the LSR canteen serves mouth-watering food, there’s just something about the Honey Chilli Potatoes, Chow Mein, and Kathi Rolls at the stall that make it irresistible to the girls of LSR. With rapid service and large servings, you can see the smiles on the girls’ faces as they devour their food. Being easy on the pocket too, it’s a match made in heaven!

So, if you’re craving chilli, or simply the magic of Delhi street food, head down to Jai Kalka Mai stall! (Oh by the way, they also home deliver!)
But folks, that isn’t all. If you ask any student at LSR where they satisfy their chaat cravings, they will all tell you about the bhel-puri wala right outside the front gate! The owner, Yaad Ram Ji has been running the stall for over 25 years, and his bhelpuri, jhal moori and sev puri are to die for. Being very reasonably priced, it is a haven for students craving lip-smacking snacks between lectures.
Bombay Bhel Puri, an amalgamation of tangy chutneys and fresh onion and coriander, there’s nothing quite like it! The Sev Puri, which is a combination of sweet and spicy, with tons of sev. Lastly, the Jhal Moori, which is a dry snack with puffed rice, finely diced onions, coriander and peanuts.
