The Neemrana Hotels have always been a favourite with us! With their properties steeped in history & magnificent views from their forts; it truly makes for a captivating place to stay.
The Hill Fort, Kesroli is located in the Delhi- Jaipur-Agra triangle and is only 150 kms away from Delhi. It makes for a perfect weekend destination from Delhi. It is located in the midst of a rustic Rajasthani village & beautiful yellow fields of mustard.
The drive to the fort is beautiful & the roads are lovely. With vast green fields on both sides & perfect long winding roads, the 4 hour drive to Alwar is an absolute delight! Once we reached there, we were greeted by a beautiful view of the huge fort. It looks like it’s fit for the kings! (which it was)
It is one of the oldest Forts we have stayed in, the 14th Century old place is so nicely renovated that it doesn’t seem like its decades old. Warm lighting, big trees & a beautiful courtyard is what you are greeted by when you enter the fort. Here’s a glimpse:
The beauty of living in Neemrana Hotels is that all rooms are completely unique, since they are old Mahals converted into modern & chic rooms. The decor is unique with antique beds which gives a rustic feel to the room. The entry to the fort is a beautiful pathway which leads you to imagine the history that place held since Centuries.
We stayed there for around 4 days, throughout which exploring the entire Fort was a very enthralling experience. They have a big courtyard where one can relax in the sun, at nights they even hold a Cultural night where Rajasthani dancers & entertainers come to entertain the guests. It’s a beautiful experience.
As for the food, the breakfast buffet was the best part of our day with lavish spreads & scrumptious food; from pancakes to traditional Rajasthani food, it was the best of everything.
Around the hotel there are small villages, where you can go & explore on cycles which the Hotel provides. Cycling as the sun goes down & looking a different cultures from so near is a lovely experience. Here’s a photo:
All in all, it was a splendid experience at the Hill Fort Kesroli, Alwar. If you’re in & around Delhi, this is a must-visit!
