We have all been there – booking last minute flights for an impromptu holiday or an emergency. But that doesn’t mean we have to pay a bomb to book those flights. Believe it or not, there’s a way to book last minute good flight deals. How? Read on:
1.Use a map while booking:
While it is more likely that you will be looking at tools like Google flights to book a flight, use the flight map feature there. Scroll around the map to see in which places are the cheapest to fly, and then pay.
2.Call the airline:
Some flights may even have a bereavement fees which can help lessen the burden while travelling for a funeral. To be eligible for this, you have to book the flight by phone and typically need to start travel within seven to 14 days. You may also be asked to share the details of the funeral, where it is etc.
3. Be flexible:
Flying during prime time like between 10 am and 4 pm might cost you extra. Try taking late night flights or early morning flights which are less in demand and hence will cost less. These flights often tend to have unfilled seats also. While it may make travel tough, it will lighten your burden of an expensive flight.
4. Follow airlines on social media:
Many times airline do post a lot of deals which might only be known when you follow their tweets etc. At this point even a 10% off may help you immensely! Hence do go on Twitter and follow their updates to stay on top of all the deals that are being offered.
5. Use your flight miles:
If you’re a frequent traveller, this is a great time to use your flight miles. You can also book your flight through your credit card to get some good cash backs and offers. Another great way is to keep following PayTM and see the offers that they have for flights. They often take out some great cash back offers!
6. Use Google Flights:
If you haven’t still figured out the miracle that Google Flights is, then you must. Not only does it tell you all the airlines fare prices in one place, but it also tells you on which date is it cheaper to fly on. It’s totally one of the best tools you can use to book flights.
7. Follow Deals By Airlines:
Every quarter or so, we see many airlines discounting their prices to a really low cost. (I have personally booked flights to Goa as low as Rs 2500!) Yes, it is possible. All you have to do is keep an eye out for these sales and pre-plan your holidays. Trust me, planning your holidays really makes the entire travel package super cheap.
