There’s no doubt that Indian mothers love cooking. Probably that’s the reason why ‘maa ke haath ka khana’ brings in more tears to the eyes than a wasabi glazed sushi! However, when the process of cooking is reversed, and the mothers are asked just to narrate the recipes to someone else, the ordeal is different. And more so, if the recipe is to be narrated their own son/daughter! Well, that is the story of #RasoiKiJung . A concept cooking show that gets two teams competing in the race of making a fine dish.
Conceptualised and brought to life by Fremantle Media, the leading creators and producers of reality and concept television series, #RasoiKiJung showcases television celebrities, along with their respective mothers, compete in the kitchen.
Fun times on the cooking show
This edition featured some of the known faces from the entertainment industry like Delnaaz Irani, Vishal Singh, Ridhi Dogra, Helly Shah among others. And the concept revolves around testing family dynamics by combining cooking and competition.
Sargun Mehta seen dancing with the host Rithvik
I particularly like this show because it shows us an unknown side of these celebrities – the funny, the goofy and the temperamental too! The show has been airing for about three months now and is concluding the season with the Grand Finale on this Sunday. The grand finale features the married superstar couple Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta. Besides dishing out their favourite recipes, the two will be seen grooving, joking and accommodating their partner’s tantrums. The last episode will be a Chinese cuisine special – so it’s a must-watch for those oriental food lovers.
The couple is seen enjoying a moment together after the competition
And no prizes for guessing that a Chinese special will entail making of a starter and main course dishes. I was lucky enough to get my hands on these exclusive trailers and got privy to what follows. The two celebs seem quite calm and patient as they enter the concluding episode. Post that these two were seen in various moods – pensive, argumentative and even flummoxed at times.
I wouldn’t delve into the other details as I’d like each one of you reading this to tune into the episode this Sunday at 1 pm on Colors TV.
