Since we have started out tasting wines, Woodbridge Pinot Noir & Cabernet Sauvignon has remained one of our favourites! We always go back to this when we have to celebrate any good occasion. This is also readily available in Gurgaon, India. The price is around Rs 1800 for this bottle.
The palate & appearance
When we look at the wine, it’s dark, opaque & deep, rich in its colour. We love that we can’t see our fingers through the glass & it gives a well roundedness to the taste as well.
We love how it’s subtle in the aroma & smells like cherry from the first go.
It opens with aromas of cherries, berries, cedar & toasted marshmallow.
Cabernet Sauvignon is balanced from the start to finish with crisp acidity however it’s full bodied. It’s a Cabernet, so the structure is tannin, but it never becomes very over-powering. The finish is sweet, fruity & refreshing.
It’s a crowd pleaser
The Woodbridge Cabernet Sauvignon by Robert Mondavi is a crowd pleaser. It’s a versatile table red wine which can be paired with a variety of meats & cheeses. It can be paired well with pizza & pasta as well which accentuate the light berry notes.
If you’re a novice in which wine to take home, we would highly recommend the Woodbridge Cabernet Sauvignon, 2014. It’s uncomplicated taste, palate & aroma is something which you will like on your first sip & you will keep coming back for more.
