First of it’s kind Community Eating in India!
Opened by Roma Mahlotra, a bubbly entrepreneur who is a Restaurant Consultant by profession. She founded DFIM, India’s Food Instagrammers Community in 2015 which took the F&B industry by storm. Over a period of two years, she has established a solid brand for herself & is now a Social Media Influencer who reaches to 2 lac plus people through her social media accounts.
Her flagship project- The South Delhi Kitchen is based on the concept of “Community Eating” which encourages people to not only have a great dining experience, but experience food together as a community. Here one is encouraged to talk to strangers over a meal & expand one’s horizons by connecting over food. There are many games here as well. For bibliophiles, there’s a huge library where many books are kept for ones reading pleasure. There’s a homely floor seating where one can cuddle up with a book & a coffee and make the most of your time here.
Roma is a wonderful host & makes sure everyone is comfortable. We really loved the whole idea & feel this is a space where many can come together to connect over similar interests & food.
They make the best Momos!
Coming to the menu & the food, The South Delhi Kitchen specialises in North Indian, Mughlai & Continental. If you are visiting here, you must know that they make the best momos! We had the Fried Oreo Momo here & it was truly the best momo we have ever had!! Right from the crispy momo to the warm chocolatey filling & cold vanilla ice-cream served with it; i couldn’t stop licking my fingers.
Another dish which took us by surprise was the Galouti Kebab. It was by far the softest & most tender kebab we have ever had. Their shakes are also good!
So, if you’re looking to relax with your friends or make new ones, The South Delhi Kitchen is the place to be! Go here with an open mind & you will keep coming back here for more.
